The heart of the Airtangent 2002 tonearm is the ultra high precision, air-bearing system

What we want
Ideally, a cartridge should traverse a radial line across the record while maintaining tangency to any groove along that line. That's how the groove is cut, and that's how it should be played back. Whether air or conventional, a tonearm bearing system must be free enough to allow both vertical and horizontal movement, but not so loose as to allow sloppy geometry and/or bearing "chatter".
